Renowned for reliability of their Vtec range of variable cam timing engines, Honda apparently were the first production engines to produce over 100bhp per litre. Imported Honda models that have proved to be popular in the UK include the front wheel drive CRX convertible which is available either 1.5 or 1.6 Vtec guise, and 5 speed manual or 4 speed auto. In Japan it is known as the CRX del sol and their is a choice of a manual roof which fits neatly in to the boot when removed, or the amazing transtop version where the whole process happens at the touch of a button. The CRX convertible is a viable alternative to the ubiquitous MX5 for those who prefer front wheel drive. Other popular imported Hondas include the under-rated Prelude Vtec, a very pretty 2 door coupe which offers not far short of 200bhp from a 2.2 Vtec engine, plus superb specification and excellent all round performance at very sensible money. The more recent DC2 and particularly the DC5 versions of the Integra, renowned their outstanding performance and sharp handling, are especially sought after.
