The metal toggle switch is illuminated with a red led and is MOT legal.
Aesthetically more in keeping with the Figaro dashboard than the black plastic

Information
Japanese domestic market vehicles are generally not equipped with rear fog
lamps.
A working rear fog lamp, together with an operational tell-tale light, is an MOT
requirement.
Imported vehicles over 10 years old are not required to undergo an SVA test, but
do need an MOT certificate prior to registration.
MOT lighting requirements are far less onerous than those needed to pass an SVA
examination.
