Japanese imports with both electronic and cable operation. Our replacement
fascias are the least expensive way of converting a KPH speedometer to MPH. Job
difficulty varies considerably depending upon vehicle, but we would usually
describe the operation as ' very competent DIY' standard.
Fitting requires the removal of the existing speedo face, but the tricky bit is
getting the needle off - and then putting it back in the correct place - so that
speedo accuracy is maintained. It's definitely not a job for the ham-fisted as
it is all too easy to damage the delicate speedo mechanism.

Information
It is an SVA requirement that speedometers record in MPH and a speedo accuracy
check is also part of the SVA test.
All Japanese domestic market vehicles are limited by Japanese law to
180kph. A speedo fascia conversion has no delimiting effect and does not affect
the vehicle's odometer, which will continue to record in kilometers.
If you wish to remove the top speed limiter, this can be achieved by utilising either an electronic
conversion for an electronic speedometer, or a
mechanical gearbox if the speedo is cable driven; this will simultaneously
convert the odometer to record in miles as opposed to kms.
